Critics, miscreants, and five-year-olds have traditionally viewed Ghostbusters as the greatest movie series outside of Robocop. While both series have fallen victim of time and rumors, a ray of hope has appeared for a Ghostbusters sequel. At a recent surprise engagement to promote his new movie, Bill Murray said that he was interested in a third Ghostbusters movie. The reason why? He had a great time recording the voice of his old character for the Ghostbusters videogame.

Here’s an excerpt of the Q&A from Ain’t It Cool News:

[Murray] also went on to say that his enthusiasm for Ghostbusters was heightened after recording the voice of Peter Venkman for the video game over the summer. In fact, he said he found himself walking down the street singing the Ghostbusters theme song and then thought people walking around him were going to start yelling at him to ‘get over yourself, Bill,’ so he stopped… But the enthusiasm was there.

I can’t say I have ever heard of this scenario. Usually it’s the movies that pump up actors for videogames. Regardless, I’m wicked excited about the possibilities and even more excited that the dialogue from the Ghostbusters videogame was spectacular enough to get Murray so excited.
