GDC 2007: Afterburner PSP; the Iceman cometh

Recommended Videos

Ok, ok, after this, I promise, fewer videos, more pictures of unicorns fighting dolphins, but really, the new PSP Afterburner is surprisingly cool. I didn’t think I’d like it, but it really feels like you’re playing Gradius or, more appropriately, one of the 19XX series of games, in behind-the-shoulder 3D. Alternately, I could compare the feel with a non-fantastical Panzer Dragoon. Either way, on a system with so few quality titles, it should easily stand out as a quality shooter. If only they had a Xenu worship Bonus Stage, I’d be sold.
