Yep, news is still flowing out of Nintendo’s GDC 09 keynote. Nintendo is once again expanding the Wii Virtual Console, this time adding support for arcade titles. Yay! As you might have expected, the new category is already accessible from home, and four games are up for sale:

  • Gaplus (Namco Bandai): 600 Wii Points
  • Mappy (Namco Bandai): 500 Wii Points
  • The Tower Of Druaga (Namco Bandai): 500 Wii Points
  • Starforce (Tecmo): 500 Wii Points

It’s also worth mentioning that Space Harrier and Solvalou are on the horizon, but nothing other than “coming soon” was announced. While I personally don’t feel the sudden urge to leave my cozy office and go download any of these titles, I am however excited about what games could potentially be in the pipeline.

Are there any arcade games that you’re dying to see come to Virtual Console Arcade? I’ve got one in mind: it starts with an “X” and ends with “-men.”
