You know, I was going to go to Gamescom. But I didn’t. I was busy with some personal stuff, but I was going to find a way to make it there anyway. My intentions to go lost some momentum when others told me that it couldn’t be that big of a show, and that they were not going to announce anything there. Those people were wrong. In fact, this year’s attendance makes Gamescom the largest game show in the world, says VideoGamer.
The the Cologne, Germany event taking place last week saw 245,000 visitors, just edging out last year’s Tokyo Game Show numbers of about 195,000. A total of 458 companies showed up, with 200 of them being exhibitors from other countries. TGS, you had better step it up!
I regret not going. My regret has more to do with my lust for beer and sausages than games, but it does seem that Gamescom was pretty eventful. Do you think I should go next year?
