The concept art up there? That’s for an MMO.

To be more specific, the art is for Funcom’s The Secret World, which mashes together the real world with all sorts of weird and cool subject matter. It’s the sort of setting we rarely see in videogames, especially MMOs. Apologies in advance if I’ve built the game up for you too much, because it’s been delayed.

GamesIndustry.biz reports that the Norway-based company is going through some tough times, and plans to let 20% of its workforce go. The maker of fine online games is in the process of transitioning staff to Canada in order to get a 37.5% salary reimbursement from Quebec and lessen the pain of its crummy financial situation.

While it’s not like we knew when The Secret World was going to come out anyway, simply knowing the wait will now be longer is indeed painful.
