FFXIV producer talks about Shiva, the next iconic summon to invade the game

Live at E3

In the newest FFXIV trailer, Square Enix teased Shiva -- a new Primal boss fight that will be hitting the game.

At today's E3 livestream, producer Yoshi-P noted that Ramuh, Ifrit and Shiva are the most popular Final Fantasy summons, and they needed to get the latter into the game eventually -- leading to the decision to include her. Shiva has a "very long and complicated story" that will tie into the core game, but she won't be making an appearance in patch 2.3.

Yoshi-P also pokes fun at the infamous Final Fantasy XIII "Shiva-Bike" -- and says this will be the "real Shiva."
