Fantastic Pets, THQ’s augmented reality Kinect game

THQ is announcing Fantastic Pets for the Xbox 360 and Kinect. In this game you’ll start with a dog, cat, horse or lizard, and then morph them into some creature like a unicorn or dragon. Then you’ll step into your television to play with and tend to your new beast, talking to it, playing games with it and taking pictures with it.

While this description of game features may sound like a drug trip, it’s all functionality that Kinect tech will bring to what THQ is calling the first augmented reality title for the system. In it you’ll actually appear on the screen with your pet. You’ll enter talent shows after training your pet, working up to the ranks of pro pet trainer.

Fantastic Pets will be released sometime in March, 2011.
