Political stupidity gets a slap in the face today as the decision to ban F.E.A.R 2 in Australia has been overturned. Thanks to the country’s lack of an 18+ age restriction, Australia’s rating board refused to classify the sci-fi shooter. Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment has confirmed, however, that an uncut version of the game will indeed appear, rated MA15+.
“We’ve always believed in the merit of the game as an MA15+ title, and we’re pleased that the Review Board saw it our way,” stated a WBIE spokesperson.
This is good news for Australian gamers, especially since games like Dark Sector and Fallout 3 have had to edit themselves in order to see release. One day, Australia will catch up with the rest of the developed world and have a ratings board that makes sense, but until that day, it’s nice to see little victories such as this.
