Up, over, and gone!
Do you guys remember the Justice League Unlimited episode "Epilogue"? It officially wrapped up the story of Terry McGinnis several years following the end of Batman Beyond, and it might be the best episode of JLU, hands down. Fan service at its finest, indeed.
Next question: Is anybody clamoring for a proper epilogue to Sonic Underground? Of the three American Sonic series, it was easily the least beloved. Sonic gained a brother and sister named Manic and Sonia (all voiced by Jaleel White, including the girl), and they traveled the world in search of their mother, the deposed Queen of Mobius, all while fighting Robotnik's army with the power of music. Yet somehow, it managed to have a longer run than the superior Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM before getting cancelled.
Regardless, Archie is planning a Sonic Underground reunion for Sonic Universe #50, which ought to arrive in March 2013. The story will be written by Ian Flynn, natch, and will follow the hedgehog trio's adventures following the show's end. In the gallery is an early look at the cover by Archie's golden cover artist Patrick "Spaz" Spaziante, who really deserves to be doing more pencil work on the Sonic / Mega Man stories themselves. Seriously, his art actually makes Sonic Underground look appealing!
But Archie has surprised me in the past, so I'll hold off on any judgment until I see what voodoo the comic studio casts on this adaptation. At least print media means we won't have to hear the annoying musical numbers that the characters break into in every episode, so that's a plus.
