EA rips up The Orange Box, sells games separately

Recommended Videos

As wonderful as The Orange Box was, some people complained that there was no value for them personally, because they already owned Half-Life 2 and Episode One. These people are blasphemous demons who should have thanked Valve for making them own such great games twice. If you were one of those people, or if you just want to play Portal, you may be interested to know that (while on the subject of blasphemous demons) EA is planning to release hard copies of Episode 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portal for PC separately.

Although available individually through the Steam server, fans of discs needed the full Orange Box if they wanted to get their Portal on. Now you’ll be able to pick it up solo, but remember to shake your fist at EA if you do, because when Electronic Arts is involved, you know that some diabolical scheme, possibly involving your everlasting soul, is underway.

This is being met with some skepticism thus far, but if the prices of the seperate components match the same kind of value as The Orange Box, it could be a good move. If all you want to do is play Portal, then you’re sorted. But this is so evil, somehow.
