Japanese video game giant Nintendo unveils the company's new portable video game console, the "DSi", equipped with a 3.25-inch LCD display and 300,000-pixel digital camera on its handheld body, at the annunal Nintendo conference in Tokyo on October 2, 2008. The dual-screen machine will go on sale in Japan from November 1, followed by launches in overseas markets some time next year. DSi sold out in Japan, also resizes boobs

We weren’t too impressed by Nintendo’s DSi. The last thing we need is another camera in our pocket, and the decision to region-lock the system sent us over the edge. Japanese gamers want one, though. In fact, none of the initial shipment are on shelves now.

The reason behind the pictures of the Japanese electronics stores with no DSi queues you’d see on those other blogs is that they were all sold via pre-sale. TechRadar says the initial allocation of 200,000 is gone in Japan. They say that 100,000 are to ship this week, but I’d guess that those were also pre-sold.

If you don’t care about region-locking and really need to get a Japanese DSi, Siliconera points to a scalper who has 50 Nintendo DSi listed on Yahoo Auctions. I agree with them that eBay is the way to go if you really want one. The importers are crazy with their $300 asking price.

As for the promised boob resizing, you’ll have check it out after the jump.

Mild, but possibly NSFW:

Thanks to the always wonderful Canned Dogs (we’re fans over at Japanator),  we have this video from Nico Nico Douga showing the DSi camera put to good use. With a simple photograph of a busty female (or female image), you can fiddle with breast sizes to your heart’s delight using the DSi’s built-in photo editing features.
