Drifter: A Space Trading Game is available for pre-order

A space game that looks steller

Space. I love space games, and we can always use more of them. Drifter: A Space Trading Game looks like it’s going to fill that little place in my heart for games like Elite. Drifter is a random- and procedurally-generated open sandbox that hopes to give players the freedom to do anything they choose. The game had a successful Kickstarter last year, so we can expect to see it come out later this year on PC, Mac, Linux, and iOS.

The art style, while simple, is stylish and captivates me. I would love to just stare at that screen for hours while I amass a fortune in space bucks. If the graphics aren’t enough to get you hooked, the soundtrack is by Danny Baranowsky, the dude behind music for Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. It’s a trance-inducing electronic symphony that perfectly matches the mood of flying around in space.

Drifter is now available for pre-order from the Humble Store for $10, and you can vote for it on Steam Greenlight.
