According to IGN, via the magically delicious Siliconera, Squenix, the corporate megalith that brought you such games as Final Fantasy LMV: Numeric Strife and Dragon Quest Heroes: A Hard Day’s Moogle, is planning on releasing a remake(s) of the older titles in the Dragon Quest series to tide people over during the excruciating wait for the Nintendo DS nerdgasm-in-a-box Dragon Quest IX. This news comes straight from company CEO Yoichi Wada, during a financial briefing that took place in Tokyo earlier today.

This summer, we’ll release Battle Road in arcades and Sword for the Wii. Following that, we’re thinking of a release for 9 once we’ve released remake versions and so forth
