Dragon Ball FighterZ launch trailer stokes the hype fires

Three days until planet-wrecking mayhem begins

Bandai Namco have released what is seemingly their 9000th trailer for upcoming title Dragon Ball FighterZ, which launches this week across multiple platforms.

Backed by a chugging '90s metal beat, the trailer features flashy action and chaotic violence, performed by DBFZ's colourful cast of constantly-screaming warriors. The climactic shot is reserved for the final roster addition, Android 21, who has already won over the hearts of many fans across the internet, including The Industry's Chris Moyse.

Today is set to be a big week. I can't think of two games in recent months that have had such a steady build of hype and marketing momentum as DBFZ and Capcom's Monster Hunter: World. With both titles hitting the shelves the same day, this could prove a very profitable weekend for video game retail.

Dragon Ball FighterZ launches January 26 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can check out our Review in Progress right here.
