Disgaea 4’s special attacks are crazier than ever

Recommended Videos

It looks like NIS is pulling out all the stops when it comes to Disgaea 4, and if this trailer is any indication, that includes the one preventing lunatics from designing the PlayStation 3-bound strategy game’s special attack animations. That’s a good thing, I say.

Just look at some of the stunts on display! I especially like the one that uses the classic Disgaea people-stack to body-slam an enemy into the moon. And they didn’t even get into the attacks that summon characters from various unrelated anime and manga IPs. There’s a strong sense of craziness in there that I like, similar to the one that pervades ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman, another NIS-developed title.

Oh, and devotees of epic space anime Legend of the Galactic Heroes might find a semi-subtle bit of fan service in the video’s opening minute. I challenge you to take a guess what it is in the comments!
