You’re going to need a shield in Dark Souls, so why not have it be one of your own design? Namco Bandai is holding a shield design contest on their Facebook page from June 27th to July 28th.
Up to three designs can be submitted. Users will vote on the designs to narrow the selection down, and then designers from From Software will hand-pick the final designs from the top ten.
The three winning designs, one for each shield template, will be made available as Dark Souls post-launch content for everyone to use. You’ll have bragging rights, of course. Each of the ten winners will receive a copy of Dark Souls signed by game director Hidetaka Miyazaki. The final 3 winners will receive a signed copy of the limited edition game plus their names in the game credits.
Designs must be submitted before July 13th and voting will be open through July 20th. I’d love to carry a Destructoid reader’s shield into battle!
