Game Informer has brokered itself the exclusive details on Dead Space 2 (those magazines need to stay alive!) and the word of the day is multiplayer. Rumored a while ago, it has been confirmed that Dead Space 2 shall let you go online for some limb-carving fun.
Dead Space 2 is set on a space station called “Sprawl” which has been built into the remains of one of Saturn’s moons. It’s significantly larger than the first game’s Ishimura, and will have all sorts of areas such as residential quarters and public spaces. It’s essentially a city in space.
Isaac was a silent protagonist in the first game, but in Dead Space 2 he has gained the ability to speak. He also has a Javelin Gun (not related to the javelin glitch) and will get to fight lipless babies. We’ve all dreamed of fighting lipless babies!
As for the multiplayer, all that’s been promised if that you’ll get to “strategically dismember your friends.” Will playable Necromorphs be part of that equation? Sounds bloody likely.
