How to play the My Little Oni mode

If you want to try the My Little Oni mode, you start by simply changing the Modifier as you see in the screenshot above to My Little Oni, which activates the mode, then click Play. Keep in mind My Little Oni is essentially a hectic fun mode for April Fools 2024. The event lasts from April 1 at 9 am EST through April 3 at 9 am EST, so for exactly 48 hours.

Playing the My Little Oni game mode presents a new and unique gameplay loop for both the Killer and Survivors. Here’s how My Little Oni works for each role:

Killer

As the Killer in the My Little Oni game mode, you can only play as The Oni character. As The Oni, you will be much bigger, essentially a titan able to see eye to eye with the lights atop generators. Once you’ve downed Survivors a single time, you must kill them using a Mini-Mori in which The Oni crushes the Survivor under his foot.

Even if you do not have The Oni Killer unlocked, you can still play this mode and are given access to the Oni only for this mode.

Survivor

As a Survivor in My Little Oni mode, you only have to repair three Generators. Once you do, the Exit Gates are automatically opened and you can Escape.

You only have one life as a Suvivor in this mode. If the Killer downs you, they can immediately kill you with their unique Mini-Mori, but cannot hook or even carry you. Also, you only take two hits in this mode, and get the Broken debuff immediately after being hit.

While the Killer is grown to a massive size, Players are shrunk down even smaller than Totems. As such, you can only interact with Generators to repair them, and Pallets to drop them. But due to your smaller size, you cannot vault over Pallets or through Windows.

There are also a few general gameplay changes that affect both Survivors and Killers. The map will not generate a Basement or Chests. Also, Players cannot have any Perks, Items, Add-Ons or Offerings in the My Little Oni game mode.

How to get the April Fools collection rewards

Also part of the April Fools 2024 event for Dead by Daylight is the release of two cosmetic items. Both are available through the Dead by Daylight store directly under the Featured tab for just a few Iridescent Shards. Here are the two rewards and how to get them:

  • Vittorio Toscano – Arlecchino (Head Only) for 4 Iridescent Shards – A very rare head cosmetic item for Vittorio Toscano that resembles a jester with a painted face and a jester hat.
  • Adam Francis – Pixelated Glasses (Head Only) for 1 Iridescent Shard – A very rare head cosmetic item for Adam Francis that gives him some stylish pixelated glasses.

The Pixelated Glasses will be available in the store from April 1 through April 8, but there is no date on the Arlecchino reward so I’d grab it as soon as you can!
