In recent times, there have only been a few occasions when I truly needed a demo to convince me of a game’s worth or lack thereof. Bayonetta and Half-Minute Hero are two such examples, although Dark Void is definitely bound to be in the running as well.
Capcom says a demo for Xbox 360 will be ready for download tomorrow, while the PlayStation 3 demo will predictably be waiting until Thursday to show itself. Let it be known that there was no mention of PC anything (yes, there’s a PC version of Dark Void too).
Since the game’s PR cycle has gone into full effect, I’ve transitioned from curiosity to excitement to feeling completely overwhelmed by the hundreds of trailers that were sent out daily. I might be exaggerating on that last bit, but I can say in all honesty that I don’t know what’s up with Dark Void any more.
Basically, Dark Void is the perfect candidate for a juicy demo. We can expect to play the game’s flying, vertical cover, and third-person shooter-y sections in this thing, so it ought to be a pretty good indicator.
