Dark Souls II has already claimed over 4 million lives

A family that dies together stays together

This Dark Souls II death counter makes me feel a little bit better about myself. Between the 360 and PS3 versions of the game (there's a drop down to switch between), over 4 million have already died. Billions of souls have been lost. I lost a few thousand today myself. And surely contributed to that death ticker. But I also beat a boss. Progress.

Actually, I've been dead -- or, rather, in hollow form -- for the last 10+ hours. Got to horde those effigies. Depending on the accuracy (and if people are playing online), the game's already been cleared 1,700 times as well. I hope to add to that number before year's end.

Remember you can check how many times you've died in the PC version of the first Dark Souls.

Also, what's up with that coffin in the tutorial area. I know what it does. But...why? What a neat, weird thing.
