Damnation ‘verticality’ video: This game has its ups and downs

That headline was the greatest pun in the universe.

So this is Damnation, a slick looking ‘vertical shooter’ from Codemasters which is due to hit the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year. The game promises big, open environments and climbing. Lots of climbing. 

There are so many action games looming on the horizon that it’s almost impossible to keep track of them all. For an action fan like me, it’s looking really good, but one must always prepare for disappointment. It’s going to be like walking through a minefield as we separate the good games from the stinkers in this year’s huge batch of action titles.

Hopefully, Damnation is not in the stinkpile when all’s said and done. it looks pretty ambitious and I like where they’re going with it. Hopefully I’ll be getting some hands-on time with this in the very near future, so I’ll be sure to let you know the official verdict.
