This screencap, taken from the epic Sonic Unleashed opening that Sega tore away from the Internet, reveals that Dr. Robotnik isn’t the bad egg he’s cracked up to be. After all, he loves the Dreamcast, since he has the console lying at his feet in this top-down shot. That counts for something.
It doesn’t seem like Sega will be creating a Dreamcast 2 in the near future, but at least the company hasn’t forgotten the old console, one that many people look back on fondly as a great system that suffered from terrible luck. It’s nice to see a subtle nod to the old boy.
Of course, with Robotnik now a confirmed gamer, expect anti-game advocates to accuse us all of being megalomaniacal hedgehog-haters who like building murderous robots.
