Cyberpunk 2077 won't be making it to E3

Which is to be expected, really

As much as we'd like to see more of Cyberpunk 2077 straight away, it's not going to happen so soon. As recently reiterated to Eurogamer, CD Projekt RED isn't bringing the game to E3 next month. "We still have a lot of work to do with Cyberpunk," co-founder Marcin Iwinski told the outlet.

He noted that "It might happen that we will be at E3 and we will show something [else]." This mystery project may or may not be "A new type of video game format previously unexplored by the studio" referenced in a 2016 annual report, but either way, no Cyberpunk blitz in a couple of weeks.

This shouldn't come as a surprise given past remarks about 2015 and 2016 being "the years of the Witcher." And, as ever, part of me wishes we didn't know about the game and continued not knowing about its existence right up until it was no more than a year out from release. Wouldn't that be nice?

"When we show it, we should show it and explain it," said Iwinski. "So I'm going to have people not read anything about Cyberpunk probably for the next... time. Whatever the time will be."
