Chucklefish exploring idea of Starbound on Sony platforms

Stars may not be exclusively bound to PC

Development on the open world (open galaxy?) space exploration game Starbound is coming along well, as detailed in the daily updates on the title’s development blog. This nugget of news comes not from there, but from the PlayStation community forums, and it may just put Sony fans over the moon.

Lead developer Finn “Tiy” Brice posted a message asking fans if they would be interested in seeing Starbound on a Sony platform some time after its PC launch. The response thus far is a pretty resounding “yes,” with many of the responses expressing interest in a PlayStation Vita release. It really would make perfect sense for the handheld, joining games like Spelunky and Terraria on what is becoming the premier indie platform.
