Carcassonne is the second board game to be turned into an Xbox Live Arcade title. As always, it’ll be available this Wednesday for, you guessed it, 800 Microsoft Points. If you’re one of those guys that enjoys Carcassonne in real life, you’ll be pleased to know that its virtual counterpart will include the “Rivers II” expansion set and both online and offline multiplayer. For everyone else: this game supports the Live Vision camera, so I think you know what to expect.
More specifically, Carcassonne features the following:
•Special AI settings to challenge any skill level
•Challenge your friends – Up to five players can play over Xbox LIVE or up to four players can play on the same Xbox 360
•Interact with new and old friends alike over Xbox LIVE while you play “Carcassonne” with the Xbox LIVE Vision camera
•Helpful step-by-step tutorial to teach you the game in minutes
•Skill-based matchmaking for ranked games
•The complete “Carcassonne” includes 72 tiles and all rule sets
•“Carcassonne” includes the “Rivers II” expansion set – 12 additional tiles
•Earn up to 200 Gamerscore and 12 Achievements
I was never able to get into Catan due to the fact that I have the attention span of a — oh sh*t, a giant wasp just landed on my desk — wait a second, what was I saying again? Ah yes, my attention span problem. If I’m lucky, I might be able to force myself to get through the tutorials and learn how to play Carcassonne.
How about you guys? Are you into this kind of game, or would you rather have something else come out this week?
