Capcom’s profits dropped 73% last year

Gamesindustry is reporting that Capcom has seen net profits reduced by 73% from 2009 to a total of $23.6 million. Sales took a hit as well, dropping 27.3%.

For all of the great titles Capcom has been putting out, there were some high-profile bombs over the last twelve months. Dark Void and Bionic Commando probably didn’t do them any favors. But the company does expect to bounce back in this next quarter, driven by sales of Lost Planet 2, Monster Hunter Tri and Super Street Fighter IV.

So, lots of money not earned last year, but money earned nonetheless. Everybody’s going to be making reports like this for a bit yet, I suspect.
