Speculation over Bungie Aerospace has been happening for over a year now. We know what it is, finally, and I don’t think I could have ever seen this coming — certainly not from Bungie, of all studios. It’s a venture to “help independent developers create brilliant mobile and social games.”
“Now that we’ve returned to our roots as an independent studio, we are in a position to launch Bungie Aerospace to support, foster, and elevate like-minded, independent developers,” says Bungie COO Pete Parsons.
The first parternship for the Aerospace initiative is with Jordan Weisman’s studio Harebrained Schemes. You might know him from his days at FASA Interactive and Wizkids, or more recently, from the I Love Bees Halo 2 alternate reality game. This team is working on Crimson for iOS and Android, due out later this summer.
