BTL II/PS3 contest winners announced: Mxyzptlk & Bramenjam, you made us LOL!

The day is finally here, folks: after a long entry period and a lengthy deliberation, we’re finally ready to announce the winners of our Blitz: The League II contest, whose prizes included a PlayStation 3! We had two extremely tough choices to make -- in other words, there were many hilarious, high-quality videos sent to us. So we thought we’d let you do our work for us and vote on five finalists instead.

Above, you can view Mxyzptlk’s uproarious contest entry (it’s NSFW because of, uh, violence and blood), which Dtoiders determined was the Grand Prize winner by a wide margin. In fact, Mxyzptlk received not just a mere plurality, but a majority, taking 50.71% of the votes. Congratulations, Mxy -- even though you said “Blitz 2: The League,” your manslaughter (and implied womanslaughter) has garnered you the following sweet prizes: a brand-spanking-new PS3; a shiny, full-size football helmet; a copy of Blitz: The League II; a Blitz: The League II t-shirt; and a Blitz: The League II hat. Have fun with them when you’re doing 25 to life in a federal penitentiary!

His hilariously bloody stiff-arming, as well as his numerous videogame references, likely led you to choose him as our Runner-up winner with 20.85% of the votes. Sir, for your video editing skills, you get a copy of Blitz: The League II, a Blitz: The League II t-shirt; and a Blitz: The League II hat. After you play the game for a while, perhaps you’ll be able to retaliate against the My Little Pony-obsessed fan with a bone-crushing hit!

Once again, I want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all who entered; by the deadline, we had a sizable number of entries, and it was obvious that a ton of work went into each and every one of them. I salute you, Dtoiders. And so does New Media Strategies, the company that offered up these fantastic prizes -- in fact, they’ve been so happy with the overwhelming response from the Dtoid community that they’re providing additional prizes. Now, everyone who entered will have something to show for it!
