Indie fans who don’t currently own an Xbox 360 will be thrilled to hear that Jonathan Blow’s critically acclaimed Braid is heading to the PC early next year. The game was originally scheduled for late 2008, but Blow sensibly decided to hold off until the post-holiday season.
“I had originally announced the release date for the end of 2008, but for various reasons, this hasn’t happened,” explains Blow. “Once we slipped into mid-October and all the big Christmas-season blockbusters started coming out, it just seemed like a bad idea to schedule Braid for that time period, as it seems likely it’d get released and then disappear.”
The possibility of both a Mac and PS3 version of the title could still be a reality. Blow is already in talks about the Mac, but Sony is yet to show any interest in Braid. This is in line with Sony’s current business model of being stupid.
