Too many games to play

[Update 19: Valiant Hearts is beaten. Wow. Just wow. But anyway, not sure what to play next. Probably will be a short one but not for another few days. I need to get stuff done, until next update!!]

[Update 18: Slow and steady but Akiba's Trip is crossed off the list. There is a lot I'd like to say about that game right now but I don't have the time and will hopefully try to squeeze it in to an upcoming blog. So there is progress. I will probably try the Wolfenstein DLC next so that I can knock something short off the list/not waste too much time playing video games as I can't afford to do that. Thankfully there are a lot of short ones on this list like White NightValient HeartsFNAFACIV DLC, etc. Also I lost my plus subscription because I forgot to renew it and it's not a good time for that financially so I'm scrambling to get that together before the next wave of Plus free games launch.]

[Update 17: Even though I was supposed to buckle down and focus on Bloodborne, I started up Akiba's Trip. Loooooong over due I can't wait to play more of this game.]

[Update 16: FINALLY Beat another game (2) geez I'm getting bad at this video games thing. Okay Boshed the crap out of Rock Boshers DX and I just finished Ys: Origin a few hours ago. Next up I wanted to get to Akiba's Trip but with a bunch of games I purchased recently and a new plus lineup next week AND a newfound taste for more Ys games I don't know if that'll happen. Not to mention I'm still trying to push through Bloodborne maybe this could be an opportunity to focus on that for the moment. I really owe it to myself to beat it.]

[Update 15: More sidetracking! Rock Boshers DX and Stealth Inc. 2 which I will try to beat asap to return to other things. Also forgot to mention how I bought the Wolfenstein DLC. Have to add that to the list as I've been meaning to play it. As Per use, too many games, too little time!]

[Update 14: Got sidetracked with Marche's Destructoid Story R. Beat it. Will be returning to Ys/Bloodborne/Ether/GTA 2 shortly.]

[Update 13: Got stuck in Ether One already. Not what I was expecting, though I do like this style of game I think this in particular has a lot of flaws and overall is not a game I look forward to continuing to play. I certainly pray Firewatch will be better than this.]

[Update 12: I've finally gotten back to my backlog adventure, so for the record here's where I'm at with it - GTA 2 and Bloodborne are on "play when you can" basis though admittedly GTA 2 will not be getting much love any time soon, Assassin's Creed: Unity is on pause/possibily will drop entirely because it's driving me nuts with those mansion infiltration segments every three missions and I've finally started Ys: Origin and am loving it; have a ton to say about that which will be going into a blog for the time being to be used wherever. After that I want to move on to the PSP/Vita game Ys: something something Felghana with Akiba's Trip and GTA: San Andreas also on my mind. I took a break from the GTA games on this list a few months back but just remembered how bad I want to beat San Andreas already.]

[Update 11: I've also added Shadownrun Returns to the list as that's something I picked up on the cheap for the Steam Summer sale.]

[Update 10: Haven't touched BB in awhile because I've been trying to finish Unity asap so that I could start the next thing. That game is so tiresome, especially the palace infiltration missions that in a rage-quit fit last night I declared that I was done with this garbage and no longer wanted to continue playing Unity. This might now be the case but we'll see. In any case I decided to briefly start Ether One as it's a five or six hour campaign. Then after that I'll be moving on to the next thing, alongside more Bloodborne!]

[Update 9: Decided that Bloodborne is not particularly my cup of tea (YET!) and that for me to enjoy it I have to take the game in short bursts, which will do wonders for the lastability. I really enjoy making small bits of progress, for example two bosses or a handful of new map points and then break. It takes me hours to make this minor bit of progress after which I feel satisfied and delighted however not interested in playing further even for a few days. It's as if my interest keeps running out and I have to wait for it to come back. This is mind, I've started Assassin's Creed: Unity (and Guacamelee: STCE for the hell of it) which I will be playing side by side with Bloodborne. Uninterested in one, switch to the other and repeat. That's what I'll be playing, 1 backlog game and 1 new game. Next up after these two I'll try either Akiba's Trip or Ys Origin/Felghana.]

[Update 8: Added Valient Hearts to the list.]

[Update 7: I've FINALLY beaten Bioshock, not sure what my final count time is but that was crazy. Much longer than I anticipated (HLTB said 12 hours story by itself) So now I will be juggling Bloodbourne and GTA 2 together, maybe if I get too frustrated with both I'll pick up AC:Unity too. We will see, onto blood and monsters!]

[Update 6: I've decided that Bioshock has drawn out my interest, not that it's bad mind you but they've used about three too many false endings that got me excited to thinking I could finally start Bloodborne. And as a result, I'm just going to start Bloodborne already as that's long overdue and I will be playing both side by side. Bioshock and Bloodborne, should be the name of something.]

[Update 5: I've gotten pretty far in Bioschock but last night about a three hour session just vanished after the game froze and both auto-save and regular save (because I forgot to save often that one time) failed on me and basically had me start back at the BEGINNING of that night's session, right where I started. That's a bum feeling, it's the same thing that killed the original Fallout for me, well not actually, not even close but the idea is similar. Anyway I'm going to power through it, as I'm still about halfway through and almost done. The sooner I get done with that I'll be getting over to Bloodborne and also Assassin's Creed Unity as I got that and am putting it on my backlog list since it is already old as balls. Carrying on...]

[Update 4: Put GTA 2 on a sort of hiatus/playing it bit by bit while I play other stuff, also taking a break from the GTA's atm as I have my fill and San Andreas would really be a long one. Starting Bioshock instead as I am feeling a bit depressed and could use a good scare.]

[Update 3: Finished Grand Theft Auto III and restarting Grand Theft Auto II.]

[Update 2: Added Bioshock.]

[Update 1: So I just want to let anyone (who possibly sees this) know that I will periodically be coming back and updating this here blog post. Now that I've finished my first backlog game, and am on my way to the next, the list needs some changing. Bold denotes games that have been added since I first did this blog and strikethrough is for ones that I have since completed. If I manage to get through everything here I will probably be doing a brand new blog post for it but will certainly keep updating this one. Not to mention it's likely not gonna happen.]

So what's been irking me for awhile is how I play games all the time now but still my backlog feels like it's getting bigger and bigger. It's like the only way to play all the games you ever wanted to play in your life would be to spend your whole life playing them. I hope that the most important message everyone gets from this is that there is a time and place for everything and that gaming needs to take a back seat for more important life responsibilities, events, etc. That being said, let's talk about all the games I want(ed) to play!

First up we could talk about a few that I've wanted to and just got around to finishing and we'll start with Wolfenstein: New Order which I have blogged already about. I bought this one way the fuck back on Black Friday '14 for the low price of fifteen bucks. Along with Metal Gear Ground Zeros for ten and Assassin's Creed Black Flag for twenty. All PS4 and since I've been almost exclusively playing on the slicker newer console, I've been trying to get through all the physical games I own for it, including Wolfie. So having just beaten Shadow of Mordor and Diablo III finally, also out of my backlog and bought on relatively good sales, I blasted through Wolfenstein. I loved it, you can hear more about that potentially later but it was good to finally get around to playing and finishing a game I've had for about half a year. I will say though there hasn't been a single sale that touched the awesome price of $15 for it since then, so that justifies the purchase back in November in my head. Moving on..

Next we had the Spring Line up for the PSN. Every year they run a handful of games, some of which are old, some of which are newly ported and others are totally new, generally all indies. I think I bought most of those or at least half. I played through Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, Axiom Verge, Bastion and Shovel Knight. Even though I rushed through most of them in that week before the release of the following Fever game, it still required that I take a step back from that terrifying backlog. I was happy to do it however, simply because I knew a lot about all of these games already and wanted them.

But it's time to return to that backlog guys. I know there are new games that come out all the time, that we have to take a step back from the backlog to play. For me right now that's for sure going to be Bloodborne , MKX, Alien: Isolation & 1886 when I get them, Uncharted 4, Tomb Raider, The Witcher, etc. But at the moment I'm going to hold back on buying any new games (even though I totally just bought Akiba's Trip after it finally hit a sweet low price for the Golden Week sale) to go shovel through that backlog for awhile. I don't know how long it'll be before I come back but there's just way too much that I have and want to play already that needs to be played through. And even though I don't want to seem dramatic about it, I feel like listing out my current "I know I will play" version of my backlog will help me keep track of it, feel better and most importantly share with you great people. So here goes:

All of the Tell Tale Adventure games I missed for PS3, Sam & Max, Monkey Island, etc.
