Onto the fifth dungeon in Strange Journey! Love the atmosphere and music here, though the phase shift and trap floors are starting to ware a bit.

My school's now closed doors except for a few kids coming in whose parents are key workers. I'm in work 1 day a week and working at home the rest of the time. Got a massive backlist to play, but it feels more bitter than sweet right now :(

I'm really into the strong narrative element of Strange Journey. I was definitely expecting a soft story like Etrian Odyssey (with little side quests along the way), but Strange Journey feels like a story driven game!

My wife is obsessed with Discworld books at the moment. I just read Sourcery and it is great. I've always loved Josh Kirby's art as well

A couple of Atlus RPGs are on sale on the UK 3DS Eshop - I just got Etrian Odyssey V and 7th Dragon III for about £12 altogether ;)

Finished Legend of Grimrock! Next game is up. Got a choice between... 1) Mario Land 2; 2) SMT: Strange Journey Redux; 3) Anachronox; 4) Morrowind; or 5) Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask??? Which do you think?

I'm very close to spending £80 on a nintendo DS game... but struggling to properly justify it to myself

RPGFan.com's top RPGs of the 2010s is a bit strange and I definitely includes non-RPG games, but it's great to look at the variety over the past 10 years. Here's the link http://www.rpgfan.com/features/Top-25-Games-of-the-2010s/index.html

Weirdly, my EU 3DS now plays my US copies of DS games Radiant Historia and The Last Spectre, which it never use to - has there been an update which has taken region locking off the 3DS? If so Ima guna import me some games uhuh

I started Ori and the Blind Forest today even though I'm meant to be playing something else. I love how you need to create your own save points. I'm interested how long I'll play it for as I'm not really a fan of Metroidvania games...

Quick survey: 1. What's your favorite portable games system? 2. What's your favorite portable game?

A much more appropriate price

Snowpiercer just made my brain explode with how good/insane it was.

Got Resident Evil 2 remake for cheap off Amazon the other day. Played 5hrs today - thats a lot for me! - and nearly finished Leon's run through. Makes me pine for a full blown Silent Hill remake with this level of attention.

I was really close to putting Suikoden down after finding the first couple of hours very boring in terms of combat strategy. I'm really happy I kept going as it's picked up loads! Any games people have nearly put down only to find they end up loving them?

I'm surprised by how hyped I for Death Stranding. One worry is the section where the player is walking through a trench shooting people - looks too normal and shooty. Love how the exploring looks. And just up for a twisty, original story.

So I've been trying to create a favorite games list for a while now and this is what it currently looks like. They're all based on my own experience and it's definitely not a list of the BEST games. Tried to have a variety though https://imgur.com/qW5zT6P

Sekiro update - I've reached Hirata Estate Hidden Temple boss and the mini-boss straight after the Ashina Castle gate. About 8 hours gameplay in total. Annnnnd...I don't think this is the game for me. Glad I tried it though.

Never thought I was going to love Etrian Odyssey Untold as much as I have done. It's a long JRPG dungeon crawler, but it pretty consistently throws new situations the players way. Love exploring the dungeons/ so many close situations! Love it!

Super Mario 3 is the game which makes me the most frustrated. I enjoy playing it but it inevitably it ruins my mood. I do not understand how people beat that game on the nes with no saving.

I'm pretty excited for the castlevania collection released next week! Can wait to play Bloodlines, Kid Dracula and Curse of Dracula for the first time!

Quick thoughts on Sekiro after 5 hrs: Legit exciting to fight enemies - love hunting mid-bosses for beads - encourages "bravery" in the player - kind of dodgy stealth - player options in the levels/midbosses aren't encouraged by the first big boss.

Anyone ever used one of these? Possibly the worst plug and play? Looks a bit like a Dreamcast controller, and it rumbles, but just when you press a button. It's loaded with shit nes games from Color Dreams.

Okay so Obra Dinn hasn't disappointed in terms of originality; there seems to be quite a bit of content here as well. Great presentation, and the music is fantastic! I wasn't expecting that. Nor the sound design in general being this good.

This weekend my girlfriend is away so I've downloaded Return to the Obra Dinn and I'm going to power through it. I've been excited to play this game for ages; going in completely blind!

I realised over the last month or so that when I feel stressed at work, I look for videogames to BUY. I'm not necessarily playing more - just looking to buy more which is pretty unhealthy. And I don't necessarily buy anything, just waste time browsing.

If I was shit at parrying in MGS: Revengence, will I actually be able to play Sekiro?

There's this issue when working at home where the thing you do work on (namely the computer) is the same thing you use when you want to not do work (playing videogames/watching videos).

So I was play Persona 3 FES for a while - got about 27 hours in - and was going to write about it in a bloggy kind of way...but I've put it down for now. Was put off by the repetition, but weirdly miss it now that I haven't played it for a month.
