They say that even when you grow up, a part of your childhood remains within you. It's what connects an adult with the things that he loved as a child, be it nostalgia or something else.
This is all the more apparent with me. Almost 20, I have a dream to becoming a Pokémon master. In all these years since I've been playing these games, this urge to enslave all of those creatures hasn't been greater than it is now. It's like an obsession. Tired of playing Skyrim? Catch some Pokémon. Done shooting the NCR in Fallout: New Vegas? 'Hey, did I already have Pikachu?' Slain some monsters in The Witcher? Get in the damn ball, damn Latios. Homework? Screw that shit.
I'm not a complete Poké-Maniac though. I'm a fan of other series such as Final Fantasy (though I still haven't finished the linear part of XIII yet), Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Kirby, and a lot of other stuff.
Used to have a Playstation along with a Nintendo 64, back in the days. Now, my room is adorned with a Wii and an Xbox 360. Also, lots of DSes. And don't forget PC gaming. Oooooooh yeah.
