The Gaming Soundtrack of My Life So Far.......

Music. Its important to our movies and its important to our games. Recently I have come to understand the importance of music in our past time of video games. As I have become older and have gained more and more experience with video games I have realised that some of my favourite games of all time have had amazing soundtracks. Today I am going to break down my favourite music in games on a console by console basis.

Soundtrack of the PlayStation 3 - Journey - Breathtaking from start to finish just finished a 2nd play-through and this little game just shows that the hobby we all indulge in can be art It has honestly one of the best soundtracks in video game period and in my opinion the best soundtrack of this generation. My second favourite gaming experience of 2012 only to xcom enemy unknown. Journey is something that has to be experienced by every gamer.

Soundtrack of the Nintendo Wii - Super Smash Bros Brawl - This game embodies music. It has one of the best soundtracks ever assembled combining lots of different music from Nintendo's large assortment of other games. One of the games I have spent the most time with in my life so far and the opening theme is sublime.

Soundtrack of the Gamecube - Super Mario Sunshine - I was tempted to use smash bros melee but decided against it to avoid repetition. Mario Sunshine was no matter what anyone says a good game and it had a great soundtrack. The track that most sticks in my mind is the one that plays when Shadow Mario who (spoilers) is later revealed to be Bowser Jr appears.
( Have not played Wind Waker Planning to when it is re-released on the Wii U in HD)

Soundtrack of the Vita - Gravity Rush - Although the vita has only been around for a year Gravity Rush stands head and shoulders above the rest as not only the best vita game released so far but the best soundtrack in a vita game.(I haven't played Persona 4 yet so no comment on that)

Soundtrack of the PsP - Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker - Any Metal Gear game is worthy of being in this list but Peace Walker has one of the most amazing pieces of music ever seen in the franchise used in quite an emotional moment as well

Soundtrack of the Ps2 - Kingdom Hearts 2 - While the 1st game is my 2nd favourite game of all time the 2nd game has a better soundtrack if not due to this song used in the opening. Hopefully Nomura finishes up on Final Fantasy Versus 13 and gets started on KH3. My personal favourite piece of music in games period.

Notable Emissions
- MGS 4
- Kingdom Hearts 1
- Uncharted Series
- Smash Bros Melee
- Ratchet and Clank 1
- Metroid Prime Series
- Mario Galaxy Games
- Donkey Kong Country Returns
- Rayman Origins
- Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep

So How About You ? What are your favourite pieces of music in games and why ?

About Rwh1hayone of us since 4:20 PM on 02.13.2013

Hi I'm Reece I'm a 15 year old growing up in the UK. I've been in love with video games for about ten years and would love to write about games for a living.

-My favourite games are Super Smash Bros Melee, Kingdom Hearts 1 and Metal Gear Solid 2

-My 1st console was the gamecube

- I currently own a PS3 , a PS vita and a Wii U

- When I'm not playing games I enjoy listening to alternative music e.g. the strokes, the white stripes, etc

- You can find me on ps3 at the Id of ReeceBox due to my friends thinking my head is a bit square

- I am looking to regularly blog on what I have been playing and reviewing played occasionally throwing in an opinion piece.

I welcome any criticism as I look to improve my writing skills further and to use them to put a foot in the door of the video game industry.

Yours sincerely Reece...
