PS Friday Night Fights: Fireworks and Cookouts Edition

Woo! As with most holiday weekends, everything is a little harder to plan. Some people are gone, others don't know when they'll be getting back, lots of people have things to do and like to do them on their three-day weekend. But there are...

PS Friday Night Fights: So Plus Edition

PS+ wins again! It might be getting repetitive at this point, but PS+ is really pretty amazing. I was skeptical of them making it a requirement. I don't believe that basic functions of games, which online play has become, should be locked ...

PS Friday Night Fights: Murder Cats

Seriously, only murder I got woken up this morning at around 6:30am because one of my cats decided to get MURDER eyes on another cat outside and knocked some stuff into my rabbits pen, who was sound asleep and is about 15 years old. I swe...

PS Friday Night Fights: What was I planning? Edition

No idea, but also no complaints. Sometimes I will resize an image for this and then not use it. Maybe I thought it didn't look good or some other thing came up in the news and I thought that was more interesting. I have a picture of Pat Be...

PS Friday Night Fights: DPRSW Edition

I watched two Youtube series close together (I've embedded them below) and I noticed something that may be a little crazy: George Lucas and Kim Jong-Il are treated very similarly. I guess it makes sense. There's a powerful guy who nobody ...

PS Friday Night Fights: Brave New World Edition

But it's no PS4... So after years of saying it was something I wanted to do, I've finally gone and built myself a PC. For the most part everything is pretty great, apart from the fact that it intermittently refuses to recognize the SSD I ...

PS Friday Night Fights: Killer Trucks Edition

Everyone else in GTAO seems to be little, starving matchstick girls, while I'm... So how's everyone doing? Video games, eh? ... Okay, I really don't have a topic worth writing about this time. Maybe I could write about all the sleep I h...

PS Friday Night Fights: Good Grief(ing)!

Guerilla Tactics Quick blog, nothing to report, GTA Online is still fun, I love my fancy new Vita, there's some new DLC out for Last of Us, and Chivalry has a free weekend so I can finally give that a shot! Might pick up that Last of Us D...

PS Friday Night Fights: Poltergarage Edition

They will always be there. Due to shenanigans of some unknown type, my garage keeps spawning versions of my personal car: an upgraded buffalo. I've tried selling them and burning them and throwing them into the ocean. It may have stopped, ...

PS FNF: THE SYSTEM IS DOWN

IT'S GONNA BE TOTALLY AWESOME! If it ever actually works. Busy week. I turned 26 or something around there. I personally stopped actively keeping track after about 22, and frankly, I was barely keeping track before then so yeah. GTA V Onl...

PS Friday Night Fights: BRAND NEW VIDEO GAMES Edition

Ah ha ha! Video games! My roommate picked up GTA V a couple days ago so I've had the chance to play that. I'm not really a fan of the driving mechanics as I feel they're ultra slippery (Seriously, even cars designed for drifting don't sli...

PS Friday Night Fights: Unicorn Doctor Edition

Also Dark Souls. Hi, Oscar! I am so pumped about playing Dark Souls co-op again. I've been through it so many times that, even with its quality, it's less about exploring and more about ticking the boxes on an incredibly detailed map. If I...

PS Friday Night Fights: Totally Not a Blog Post Blog

So Keiji Inafune has a kickstarter for a new game that I like to call "Totally not Megaman". Which is actually quite exciting and should be checked out. It's very interesting to see how Kickstarter is now affecting companies who made game...

PS Friday Night Fights: Covert Capes Edition

... Westerns. I like them. Old news. The line of sight mechanic looks cool. I've seen something like it before, in Counter-strike 2D, but Ponchos seems quite a bit more polished. Years and money make all the difference. I've got nothing t...

PS Friday Night Fights: Big Booty *CENSORED*

There may be a relevant XKCD for everything, but this one has Dinosaurs! Thanks Ryan North! I don't know. I could do a big write up on how controversial Dragon's Crown is. Hell, looking at some of the things even I take a step back and sa...

PS Friday Night Fights: Abbreviated Sanity Edition

Modern games, huh? I've kind of got nothing to write about this week. I'm fairly preoccupied with this project at work. I'm trying to filter user-input addresses into something that can easily be checked against a database, but I'm dealing...

About PS FNFone of us since 12:46 AM on 09.05.2011

Welcome to the home of PlayStation Friday Night Fights.

Friday Night Fights is a weekly event where we, community members, cooperate with or murder each other online. There is a forum thread for planning and then a blog post here with the final schedule. Keep an eye out for both them if you want to play some games.

If you are new to the whole thing, check this out: FNF FAQ: Everything you need to know (but never asked) about Friday Night Fights

The Guide

To Play

Keep yourself up to date on the schedule. The list in the forums can change several times throughout the week.

Leave a message with your PSN name and which games from the schedule you want to play. More people will play if other people are playing, so speak up.

Send a PSN friend request to the person hosting the game which includes a message with your Dtoid name. If you leave out who you are on the site, they might think you're just a random friend request and ignore you.

To Host

If you want your game listed on the schedule, we need the game, the time, and your PSN ID. We need the specific game, not an abbreviation that applies to more than one; a start time, even if you're playing "all night"; and we need your PSN ID even if you think we know it already.

Don't worry about hosting the same game or hosting a game at the same time as someone else. Instead, think of it like a movie theater; more than one game can run at the same time.

Make sure you have at least an hour to play. That's only two or three matches of the average shooter and those go by pretty quick.

Check the comments, on both the forum post and the cblog when it goes up on Friday, to see if someone has said they'll play. You might have missed their PSN message or your friend list might be full.
