I was hoping to play CoD4 tonight, but alas, I couldn't get the update working. So I pooped in Halo 3, got in, watched the game lock up. Rebooted, started it up again, and watched the game lock up with a checkerboard pattern.
Of course, that can only mean one thing: my 360 is on the way to Deathsburgh.
I turned the damn thing off to let it cool down in hopes it would maybe be a heating problem... but I severely doubt it. I know a RRoD is imminent... so should I go get my casket so that I get the damn thing fixed while it's still under warranty? Or do I tough it out and hope that I just ran into a bad problem tonight?
I'm leading towards the former.
*sigh* Of all days, it had to be a day like today... >.<
[UPDATE] - Just played for about half an hour without issue, but to be safe, the 360 is going off for now. I'm not risking this.
I've had a RRoD twice before, but that's because on both occasions, they happened when I plugged my 360 into a surge protector and a spark jumped to the plug.
And that, my friends, is why Microsoft has a point about surge protectors causing RRoD issues. Because it happened to me twice.
