Last time we left Super Street Fighter II HD Remix... I was too smitten with Street Fighter IV to be caring. Yes, Capcom's other Street Fighter game had pretty much caused me to lose interest in a HD remake of my favorite Street Fighter game over. And while I obsessed over whether Cammy was in SFIV or not, the fine folks at Capcom went to work to make sure they could lure me back. And lure they did.
First, we found out the game won't be crappier on the 360 than the PS3... at least in the graphics department. Controls I can't speak for until I actually play both, but at least the biggest worry - that the XBLA size limit would lead to graphics on the 360 below the level of the limit-free PSN/PS3 - is off the table.
And the graphics? Well, we just saw Ken and Ryu in the screenshots... but HOLY CRAP. They look great, especially the backgrounds. A lot of my worries on how it'd look have been settled. Now, again, it's just back to gameplay. Of course, that seems like more of the same. So what it may come down is to controls, what console(s) I own, and if my love for Street Fighter IV is stronger.
The answers right now? Hopefully not nerfed, maybe a 360 and PS3(?), and probably not.
Still, it was nice to get this glimpse at SSFIIHD Remix before my trip out to Pittsburgh, though. I'll be there the next two days so probably no blog update tomorrow night. Unless I can get to a computer at the fancy ass hotel I'm staying at in downtown Pittsburgh for the SPJ Region 4 Conference. After two and a half years of working at The BG News, i finally get to fucking go to a conference. And four star accommodations for free FTW! Expect pictures when I return. :)
