In case you haven't heard
, Microsoft is holding a new viral marketing campaign called X Marks the Spot. While exploring the prizes page
, I noticed a small notice at the bottom. When I clicked on it, it brought me to a promotional page on Xbox.com about building the "perfect set-up" for your Xbox. On the page, it offered two free Xbox Live Arcade games, Frogger and Robotron 2084, to any new 360 owners who registered their 360 on the page. Since I recently picked one up for myself
, I signed up, which just required my Windows Live ID and my 360's serial number. Once MS verifies that I actually bought the 360 recently, the codes for the games will be sent to me.
So hey, two freebies. Frogger and Robotron 2084 aren't the best of games, but it's hard to argue against them when they're free. Just thought I'd pass on the offer to those of you who also bought a 360 recently or are getting one for the holiday season.
Oh, and in case they take it down off the page, the promotional code they says is XBX0808 (I used that one) and the code on the code on the viral marketing page is XBX1122.
