Whatever happened to that sci-fi horror game ROUTINE?
Whatever happened to that sci-fi horror game ROUTINE?
Wasn't online the last week or so, so I hope you all had a swell christmas!

Been listening to a lot of Grandson recently. Cool combo of pop, rap, rock, electro. Political, too. Very nice *Borat voice*
Happy Birthday, Seymour! And happy thanksgiving to all the US folk.
Great first sentences in media, go! "The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel." Neuromancer by William Gibson
Was there anything about Ori and the Will of the Wisps coming to Playstation or is it gonna stay exclusive for now?
Enjoy your new console if you managed to snag one (Demon's Souls *drool*)! For everyone else is this song; we'll get one eventually when most of the kinks are worked out by the Beta-testers. ;P
"Behind all of us lies an emotional year. And [we] want to celebrate it in an appropriate manner together with one of North Germany's most empathetic and sensitive singer-songwriters." After the recent Little Big song, we're collecting #2020hymns now.
Happy N7 Day. Can we fiiiiinally get that Mass Effect Remaster news or is there anything else important going on?
I was wondering this since I read it somewhere. Is it true that inmates in the US can't vote or is it only in specific cases?
For all the Final Fantasy IX fans here, Third Editions are currently kickstarting their book about the game (3 days left). They've done quite a few and good books as of yet, full of lore, interpretation etc(for example the Soulsbornes). Link in comments
Anyone looking for a boardgame to play during spooky season should check out Betrayal Legacy. Players investigate a haunted-ish house cooperatively until *dundundun* (generally ) one of them turns traitor trying to kill the heroes. More in comments...
Here's my #OPtoid Really would've liked more seasons of this but it didn't take off, I think.
Since my latest boardgame kickstarter interest announced a videogame version I figured I'd post about it. If you're into games with emergent narratives and also sci-fi horror in the vein of Alien, check out the links in the comments. KS has 16 hours left
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSS Demons SOUls! FUCK YEAH
Finished GRIS. Unfortunately it turned out kind of a dud for me. Pretty art style but kinda artsy-fartsy with sluggish/boring/easy gameplay and an that-was-it?-ending. I see the Journey influence but it doesn't come close in terms of quality IMO.
This could be an interesting AMA for the Syphon Filter fans around here. I'm following Rahdo because he has great boardgame content (recommendation!) but he's a (former) videogame developer that worked on the PSone trilogy of Syphon Filter.
Fashionably late #90stoid from me
PSA: There's a pretty nifty Kickstarter ending soon if you're fans of deckbuilding games like Dominion and such. The game's called Ausonia. It takes place in a fantastical renaissance setting and features quite some deep mechanics. Link in the comment
#songcoverwednesday A day after Adam Yauch died I remember this coming up on the radio in the car. I quickly found a parking spot and just listened to it in complete peace. A great tribute IMO.
Huh, don't know how that happened but I backed like six things on Kickstarter in about two months' time.
FFVIIR impression: Looks and sounds great, combat quite hectic and buttonmashy, not * bad though. I absolutely don't understand Squeenix's obsession with lots and lots of numbers on screen (since FFXII, I guess). Leaning positive but still on the fence.
So, why was everybody so excited about The Mandalorian? Five out of the eight episodes bored the hell out of me, no stakes are felt, so much wasted potential. The other three episodes (1,7,8 btw) were entertaining tho.
To look on the bright side of this entire shitshow, I for one am gonna welcome the Scots and the Irish to the EU with open arms, kisses and beer. Otherwise truly sad day for progressive politics.
Just watched Joon-ho Bong's Parasite in theaters today and it was really fucking good. Great cinematography, on point performances, good pacing and oh so tense moments (a longer midpoint sequence in particular is just *chef's kiss*). Recommend!
