EMERGENT REVIEW: Star Warrior 2: Defenders

From the moment I am posting this, 6:04am (-7GMT), there are 19 hours 29 minutes left to DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL this game from GiveAwayOfTheDay for free in an absolutely legal way.

Download NOW!

The best formulas survive appearing as new games with the time. Breakout's legacy made Shatter, Street Fighter inspired other fighters like Soul Calibur, Metal Slug inspired The Behemoth to create Alien Hominid, and even Space Invaders grew as a classic franchise into what Space Invaders Extreme is today. Star Warrior 2: Defenders could be, in part, be a descendant of the Asteroids game.

The objective of the game is simple, destroy every incoming object that menaces your satellite, and of course, your planet as well. You will often find meteorites, spaceships and many other obstacles on the way. what makes the game different, is the first person perspective in the game, in which differs from the 2D bullet hell game, and makes it an arcade classic meteor sniper in an spherical liberty of controls.

The controls are very simple as well: mouse to aim, click to shoot, and the W-key to zoom. if you are used to games Like Team Fortress 2, I suggest you to switch the Y-Angle in the options, tso it feels much more fluid for you.

The graphics are just VERY good, not the most incredible of the generation, but definitely a very good quality for being a temporal freebie.

In conclusion, it is not the most epic space shooter you will find, but it will keep you busy for a good while breaking your own records too.

About Monodione of us since 10:46 PM on 10.15.2008

About time I updated this freaking thing!

For those who already know me, I am Monodi. Those who doesn't, well, I am Monodi.

I got such a growing passion of gaming through the years and now I am currently in college starting my courses of Game Design as well!

I consider myself a Nintendo fanboy from all my life, but I have been much more in contact with titles for PC recently. Not that I am abandoning one, but I think it pretty much could cover the best the industry has to offer.

I am up for the philosophy that gameplay is more important than graphics, but I think graphics and technology are also a crucial part of the industry and experience even.
