Steam Holiday Sale: The Spoils and the Damage

As promised yesterday, here is my final tally from the Steam Holiday Sale. In no particular order:

* PB Winterbottom
* Titan Quest Gold
* Super Meat Boy
* Indie Fright Pack
* Caster
* Blueberry Garden
* The Witcher: Enhanced Edition
* Puzzle Quest
* Defense Grid: The Awakening
* The Polynomial
* King Arthur Pack
* Overlord Complete Pack
* Flatout Ultimate Carnage
* Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY
* Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition
* Mount and Blade: Warband
* Kings Bounty Platinum
* Swords and Soldiers HD
* Plants vs Zombies
* Amnesia: The Dark Descent
* Oblivion: Game of the Year
* S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Bundle
* Killing Floor Bundle
* Frozenbyte Collection
* Indie Kids Pack
* Everyday Genius: SquareLogic

So what was the final cost for all of this gaming goodness? $139.57. I think I did alright. Now I have to find the time to actually play them all.

The games Im looking at tackling first are Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Trine, & Kings Bounty: Armored Princess. Along with the multiplayer of Killing Floor, I think Im going to be busy for quite some time.

Hey Destructoid!

My name is Kim Fidler, I'm Canadian, and I've been playing video games for over 25 years. Yes, you can calculate that and you'll probably realize that I'm kind of old. Not REALLY old but old enough to have 1 or 2 gray hairs (around 10 at last count). I'm 30 and even though I should be bogged down by all of the bullshit that comes with being an adult, I still love games and the gaming industry.

I don't really know what it is about games that I like so much but I think it has a lot to do with the community that surrounds them. I'm not talking about the fanboy jerk offs that populate every single gaming website, but the great people that keep this hobby a viable way to spend your free time. Take a look around at all of the people making community blogs on Destructoid and I can guarantee that every single one of those people is a great person in their own distinct way. They all have something to say and while you might not always agree with it, we as gamers are always willing to listen to different opinions.

That is why I have decided to start a blog on Destructoid. Over the past decade I have written for several gaming websites but it's come to that point in my life where I no longer want to be a member of the gaming press. It's a cool job but I have a career that I absolutely love and, well let's face it, I can't hang with all of the big names in the gaming media. I'm looking at you Jim "Big Comfort" Sterling.

So that's me. I'm a pretty normal guy that probably likes a lot of the same things that you do. I have a shaved head because it makes me look tough and I run about 25 kms a week. That's about it. Thanks for visiting my blog!
