Ok, I'm no prude. I've played Senran Kagura, amongst other games that feature busty female protagonists with large swords. Hyperdimension Neptunia is way more fun than it has any business being.
VD:B is pretty fun in itself. You know what you're getting with it. A button mashing game with plenty of T and A. Though once you damage someone enough to shred their clothing, their chesticle region glows with lens flare like a JJ Abrams film.
Story actually exists, about the virus the girls have that sent them there, trying to be the best and strongest on the island and the mysteries that lie on it.
It's standard fare when it comes to the characters. Perky anime girl, tsundere girl, stuck up girl, quiet girl, etc. But while games like Neptunia give the characters some room to grow and humor, this game kinda lacks that.
It's fun for a quick run through it, but nothing is buy. It'll be heading back to gamefly, probably won't go back to platinum it, I've enjoyed my time on Bhikkhuni island, but I don't want to live there.
