A Word From The Weird Kid...

Hey Everyone,

Man, I don't quite know where to start with this one. Ok, how about this. My name is Chris and I post under the name Excremento here on the Destructoid Community Blogs. I wanted to take some time here to personally thank the 'overlords' here at Destructoid for giving me the chance to have a voice in the gaming community.

I started this endeavor 3 months and 5 days ago with my first posting Ahh...The Good Ol' Days and from that moment onward I've been addicted to adding to this website. I was ecstatic when I got so many comments commending me on my post, when I felt like it was a throw-away piece just to test the waters. Now I am ranked on the leaderboard, and have had the opportunity to be on the front page. It's almost like I'm getting misty thinking about the awesome opportunities I've had here.

No matter how miniscule you may think your opinion is at this website, be thankful that your opinions actually have the chance to reach other gamers out there across the globe. I for one am grateful to have such an amazing audience that will patiently read my blogs and give their views on whatever topic I may be writing about. Nowhere else on the internet have I seen a video game website give their community of readers a chance to steal their bandwidth and post on the home page.

I can't quite put into words how good it feels to come to a website where people remember fondly the memories they have for gaming. I know that no matter how obscure a game I bring up or talk about, there are people who love it, there are people who hate it, and the ever growing community of never-played-it-but-want-to. The passion that all of the community has for gaming in general is staggering.

I have seen posts from community members everyday breaking news before the paid writers have had a chance to write their articles on them. I don't know about you but that speaks volumes about what kind of people exist in the Destructoid Community. Hell, there have been days where 5+ seperate posts have been made for the same topic. Do they get deleted? No, they don't because no matter how redundant the topic may be, it has it's own opinion and deserves an audience no matter how small it may be.

There are other websites out there that think of us as immature or frat-boyish, at least here, we matter. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this is the best damned website out there just for the fact that here WE are the majority of Destructoid. That is what sets Destructoid apart from the other sites for gaming, community.

Hopefully many of you out there feel the same as I do. I wanted to take a moment to let you all know how I feel. From the bottom of my heart, Neiro, Ron, Nick, Brad, Hamza, Topher, Colette, Dale, David, Jim, Gameboi, Grim, Nex, Chad, Rev. Anthony, Eliza, Florian, Tiff, Aaron, Dyson, Charlie, Mxyzptlk, Electro Lemon, Snaileb, BlindsideDork, BahamutZero, Necros, King3vbo, Backflip, Atheistium, AngelsDontBurn, Sheir, Bhive01, Prof Pew, Unstoppablejuggernaut, Orcist, NihonTiger90, Riser Glen, Namelessted, -D-, Cowzilla3, blehman, Dick McVengeance, BFeld13, Tron Knotts, Butmac, the in-numerable versions of Whiteboy, WiiSucks, and everyone else for constantly reminding me why I do what I do here and for all of the support over the last 3 months. I'm buying the first round for everyone when we all get the chance to meet.

Thank you for your time,

Christopher Reed ( I <3 DTOID!!!)

Hey robots, I'm Excremento, but you cool and old skool Dtoiders know that already. I've been a videogamer for as long as I can remember. I have well over 27 years of video game experience that I rely on daily, and a near encyclopedic memory of gaming starting with the Commodore 64 and ending with whatever is the current hotness.
