54 days until Smash! - Red dread

Today will be my last post for "X days until Smash!"... I had a few more original characters lined up, but considering the delay that was announced today, I can't bring myself to do this 54 more times. I can't bring myself to think about this game every day for another 54 days.

Today's character is kind of a shmuck. He's pretty easily tricked, and having lived on an island by himself his whole life, he's also pretty naive. Oh well, at least he's got a cool hairdo. Who am I talking about? It's:


Knuckles!

B: Charge Punch - This move works similarly to DK's B move. Knuckles shakes his fist angrily, letting the fury inside of him build until it hits it's maximum, and he begins to glow red with fury. When he unleashes the power, he'll do a straight punch that can hit for a maximum of % damage.
< or >B: Rushing Knuckle - Hi-ya! Knuckles dashes out in the direction he's facing when this move is used to attack whoever, or whatever, gets in his way. This attack will hit for a maximum of 14% damage.
^B: Rising Knuckle - If you've got giant fists with spikes on them, you better use them to your advantage! With this move, Knuckles does a dragon punch type of leaping uppercut. The twist being that when he reaches the top of his jump, he'll level out and glide back towards the ground. This move will hit for a maximum of 17% damage and makes for a good recovery move.
vB: Spin Dash - If Sonic can do it, so can Knuckles! Knuckles will duck down and the start rolling to charge up a spin dash. The longer you charge this move, the faster he'll go. This move will hit for a maximum of 8% damage.
Final Smash: Invincibility - Knuckles pops open an invincibility power up and goes wild! With this move he'll become impervious to any attacks, and if he hits anyone, he'll do a whopping 45% damage to them! Be careful though, as this move speeds Knuckles up by 5 times... it can be easy to take yourself off of a ledge. He'll remain invincible for 13 seconds.

Knuckles' Stage:


It's the Mushroom Hill Zone! I couldn't get GIMP to do right, as the machine should be in the middle and one mushroom should be on the right, and one on the left. The mushrooms are bouncy, so you can keep an aerial battle raging on in this stage! Items will appear in the monitor-like boxes that appear throughout the Sonic the Hedgehog series, but there will be a yellow question mark so you can't tell what's in it! This stage is as big as Pokemon Stadium in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Hazards:
There really aren't any hazards in this stage! The platform in the middle of the stage raises and lowers itself periodically, and as mentioned above, the mushrooms are bouncy, but there are no booby traps hidden in this stage. It's Knuckles' stage, and he just wants a straight forward fist fight!

With Sonic being in the game, it'd be nice to see his sometimes rival, sometimes friend Knuckles in the game... maybe he'd be tricked by the subspace emissary into turning evil! Sega is surely on board with doing business with Nintendo when it comes to making games, but surely, with Sonic already confirmed as a playable character Knuckles won't make it. Well, maybe he'll get in as an assist trophy or a boss character!

Below I've included the "shell" articles that I'd had made up for the next few updates, then I had planned to "take another look" at the confirmed Brawl characters until Feb. 10th arrived. To all of my regular readers, I'm sorry, but this was planned as a count down, and because of the delay my heart is broken, and the countdown is ruined. Also, thank you for your support. It's been fun writing these, and I'm glad to see that others have enjoyed them. THANKS TO EVERYONE!

Hi! I play video games and don't afraid of anything. Well, I am afraid that I might accidentally a whole Jill sandwich... but the chances of that happening are slim! I don't blog as much as I'd like to.

I've had every system I could get my hands on since I first played Super Mario Brothers on the NES, and currently I have a Wii, Dreamcast, PS3, and 360 hooked up to my TV. My all time top 5 favorite games: Super Smash Bros. Melee, LoZ: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger, Castlevania: SotN.

I don't really have a favorite genre, because I like pretty much all video games. It's easier to just list the genres that I don't like. Simulation sports games (Madden, Tiger Woods, etc.) are no fun at all in my opinion and most FPS games (with few exceptions) bore me.

I wanted to join this community because the front page posts are fantastic, and the cblogs are packed full of win. During my time here, I've met tons of amazing people, and have had an awesome time at the first Mega-NARP in Cincinnati. My favorite thing about Destructoid is the cocks. Long live Destructoid.com!
