Well would you look at that? I got my recaps in on time for once!
What's new with everyone? Same old' same ol' here. Bravely Default, Spelunky, Ass Creed and now DOTA 2 and Octodad! I'm not sure what it is about DOTA but all of sudden I'm actually enjoying it and having fun instead of just getting cranky.
Then there's Octodad. That game is just delightful and silly. Nothing quite like playing as an octopus in a suit going grocery shopping. The devs also placed a lot of little easter eggs referencing other small studios and games and it's amazing. Go play Octodad as soon as you can!
I'm really getting into Bravely Default now as well. I haven't been this into a traditional RPG since probably Ni No Kuni or the OG Golden Sun! The story is compelling and the battle system is a lot of fun and provides for a lot of in depth and interesting strategies. So far my only complaint is the voice acting is bad anime dub quality for the majority of characters. Look for a new episode of Pocketoid in a couple weeks where Jordan and I will both be reviewing the game!
In this month's bloggers wanted prompt, we want to you talk about the physical places you may or may not appreciate in your daily lives as a gamer. Do you find the quiet monotony of public transportation like a train the perfect routine to always get a game in? Maybe you have a relative's home that brings a familiar and comforting feeling as a place and memory. I was just talking about when I played my 3DS in times of uncertainty in my car, so don't think any place is too small or insignificant to share. It could be a chair you've had for nearly half your life that you always sit on as you boot up your favorite gaming console. It could be the classic dream of a gaming room, filled wall-to-wall with your collection of video games *cough*ChillyBilly*cough* and memorabilia.
