It's Crackity Recaps time! Holy shit have I been into Spelunky lately. It's the game I've been playing the most even though there are a ton of other games I should be playing. It's just so damn good! I also picked up Strike Suite Zero the other day and well ... it's ok I guess.
In other game news that excites me, Mega Man X is $2 right now! Guacamelee is about to be $4! The Just Cause 2 multiplayer mod is out! It is just such a wonderful time to be a gamer. We as a community bitch about things a lot, some of it warranted but more often than not it isn't. It's nice to sometimes just step back and realize we have a lot of great games at our disposal.
I challenge you in this next year to be a bit more appreciative of all the great games we get and especially of all the hard work that goes into them. People work insane hours on these games and pour their souls into them so that we can buy them 3 months later on Steam for $10 and complain about the resolution.
Anyways, the point is to just shut the fuck up and just play games. And yes, I include myself in this as well.
For this month's prompt, let's look back in time on our favorite games, then bring our gaze back to the present. Back then, Pokémon had 150 different monsters to collect, psychic types and ghosts were pretty strong, and the only reliable method of hatching eggs was riding a bike downhill on that bike path outside Celadon. Now, Pokémon has added three new types, psychics were toned down considerably (maybe too much until we see how Sun and Moon do), and we've since seen running and even rollerblading added to help in egg hatching.
