It's happened again. Our usually punctual Friday recapper ran into yet more technology issues, necessitating this late recap. I'm honestly beginning to feel like the recaps team's unofficial rescue dog. That's three different people I've saved from certain oblivion, so shouldn't I have gained a level or something? Life isn't fair.
In other news, I played Okami for the first time in six months yesterday.
It was a very strange ten minutes. The game still handles perfectly well, and the characters, sounds, and atmosphere haven't changed one bit. But after months of working with Clover concept art and fan-based drawings, Okami looks completely different from how I remember it. Still beautiful and unique, but harsher and more contrasting than I thought it was. Is this how I viewed the game when I first took control of the newly reborn deity? Simply put, it raised a large number of questions I'll have to answer at some point.
While I spend my time searching for the meaning of all this, you're interested in last Friday. Well, fine. Here's what happened on that day. Obviously, we have the Friday Night Fights (where are the TF2 players, really?) as well as a significant amount of cultural stuff. The usual swarm of gaming news and general discussion showed up as well. While you read that, I'll just practice my digging skills for when someone else gets buried ... sigh ...
