Hello everyone! E3 has come and gone, and now we wait for all the great games they announced to actually come out. There were a ton of cool games this year that I'm looking forward to, with at least a few games from each of the major conferences.

The game I was most excited about was Bloodborne, the new game from From Software which seems to be a spiritual successor to the Souls series. As a longtime fan of the series, they really could have shown anything remotely like a Souls game and I would be excited. At this point, I feel like they can do no wrong. Even though Dark Souls II wasn't quite as good as Dark Souls, it was still a phenomenal game.

Second on my list of most exciting announcements was Abzu, a game that some of the people from thatgamecompany (Journey, Flower) have been working on under their new studio, Giant Squid (you have no idea how much I wish I could work for a company called Giant Squid!). Abzu is set under the ocean, with beautiful, stylized graphics. If it's going to be anything like Journey or Flower, then there's a good chance it might be one of my favorite games ever! An underwater Journey? I would be in love! Even if it doesn't play like Journey, I'm confident the people over at Giant Squid will make something equally as wonderful.

Speaking of squids, can we talk about Splatoon for a second? This is going to be a new IP from Nintendo. It appears to be a team-based arena shooter starring these cute little characters who can turn into squids and shoot ink at each other. Look at these squids; they're so cute! I'll definitely be picking this game up, just for the concept alone. Anyone else interested in this one? This seems like something that wouldn't really appeal to the mainstream, but I dunno. Maybe other people are as excited about squids as I am.

There were plenty of other announcements that looked interesting as well:

- Cuphead looks like a neat little indie title, with really cool aesthetics taking inspiration from classic cartoons.

- The team behind Limbo announced the new game they're working on, Inside, which I'm sure will be amazing.

- No Man's Sky looks intriguing, but it seems like the studio might be biting off more than they can chew... I hope they can prove me wrong though!

- Let it Die was the new Suda51 announcement, and it seems to feature dudes fighting each other in various states of undress, which I'm totally down with!

- I'll probably be getting Rise of the Tomb Raider, as well as the other Lara Croft game they announced, just because I love Tomb Raider.

- Mirror's Edge 2 and Bayonetta 2 are still looking fantastic.

- Yoshi's Woolly World looked surprisingly good, even though I wasn't interested in it at all when it was first announced last year (or whenever they announced it).

- And also, Grim Fandango! I never got a chance to play it before, so I'm really excited to be able to try it out finally!

There were more awesome announcements, but I can't really remember them all, and also I've probably listed enough already. Needless to say, the next few years are going to be fantastic!

* - Derek Pietras finally figured out what the term "gameplay experience" is supposed to mean! He definitely prefers games that let you do things your own way, rather than games that forcefully lead you from one planned moment to the next.

* - 10 things you didn't know about UsurpMyProse. Turns out he really is a wizard!

S - PK493 continues his series on sex in video games by looking into the sexy world of The Witcher 2!

A - Sabotender was impressed by Nintendo's E3 announcements, but was a little disappointed with Sony and Microsoft.

A - Nick Murphy wrote his high school senior research paper on Mario, and decided to share it with us here!

A - Who will really win E3? SpielerDad wants to see the video game companies of E3 fight to the death.

A - Gray Time has a bunch of suggestions for gaming when you don't have much money!

P - Radio Destructoid episode 039 is out now!

No pants? No problem!

F - Friday Night Fights on Playstation + Beta testing!

F - Friday Night Fights on Xbox + E3 satisfaction!

F - Friday Night Fights on Nintendo + More E3 satisfaction!

C - E3 has left Fenriff with the desire to write more blogs.

S - Emmeryn is quitting the Dtoid forums because he was told to stop being mean to people. The hostile nature of the forums is exactly why I avoid them in the first place.

S - R. Hoffmann accidentally deleted his website last week, but it looks like everything is back to normal again!

S - PlayBoyMan will no longer be blogging at Destructoid.

R - TroyFullbuster reviews Mario Kart 8.

T - Retrofraction is playing Dark Souls for the first time! Good luck!

T - ALL95 gives us his thoughts on the alpha version of Destiny.

T - Gamingnerd15 thinks The Last of Us is one of the greatest games of all time. All sorts of hyperbolic statements ensue.

V - Chi-Guy analyzes the Arkham Knight video show at E3.

$ - June 13th UK releases and deals!

Bluto? Is that you?

C - This blog is utterly baffling... even though a new Super Mario 64-inspired game could be cool, these are some really wild assumptions.

F - More of these goddamn cheat blogs! Can somebody delete these?

Current "Bloggers Wanted" assignment
Changes

It feels like it's been a decade since we've seen the rise of the crowdfunded game. I'm always surprised when I remind myself that crowdfunding has been a thing long before the first crowdfunded video game, but nowadays a crowdfunded game seems like a dime a dozen.

Of course such a phrase is an incredible disservice to some of the great games that have come out thanks to websites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Games like FTL, Shovel Knight, and even Undertale are around thanks to crowdfunding; thanks to people gathering around and literally putting their money where their mouth is, a game they want gets funded and inevitably the greater landscape of gaming benefits from it. Most of the time the landscape gets to benefit from it anyways.

Don't worry though, this month's bloggers wanted prompt isn't an exploratory thesis on the effects of crowdfunding on video game development. We just want you to talk about your favorite games, as long as they were crowdfunded. This topic can be simultaneously broad and narrow, because you can talk about whatever game you want, however you want, as long as it was crowdfunded.
For me, FTL is the original crowdfunded game, and it was great. It was somehow minimalist and incredibly detailed at the same time, and it was all done because a man wanted to do it, but needed the money, and thousands of other people wanted to see where his idea would go. Shovel Knight to me feels like this natural evolution of the classic 8-bit gaming of yore without also throwing myself back to a time when gaming was honestly comparatively archaic. And everyone's talked to death about Undertale, so we all know where I'd go with that.

To participate in this month's bloggers wanted, just start a blog! Oh, and title it "Crowdfunded: [your blog title here]." I bet this month is going to be pretty diverse, since it's basically writing about your favorite crowdfunded game. So I hope to hear about some good games revisited or amazing games no one has heard about.

Remember: Persona 5 was not crowdfunded, but excuse me as I plow through it.
