That damn slacker Phil saddled me with his caps too. GOD what a jerk. I'd never do that to anyone. AT ALL.

Anyway, because this is just me covering Phil's ass, and I barely have any time to spare right now, I'm not going to talk much.

One thing though:
Remember when I said last Thursday that Microsoft would be hearing from the Germans and the Scandinavians about the Xbox One?
Well don't I just love being right. (thanks, TheKodu!)

Peter Schaar, the German privacy commissioner, today expressed his concerns about the always-on Kinect. Not so much that it's always-on, he's not afraid of spying, but the fact that Microsoft may have some plans for storing certain kinds of data. Which, if true, doesn't sit well with EU privacy regulations either.
So that's one down already. Don't leave me hanging now, Swedes, Norwegians! You can do it!

And with that out of the way...euhm....
Fuck it, have some more pretty girls laughing.

* - Here's an interesting blog: rathowreck explores virtual representations of Philadelphia. Sadly, my knowledge of Philly literally doesn't go beyond "In West Philadelpia, born and raised".

* - Xbox One fits in an oven, 10/10.

P - ...since when do we have a GoForRainbow podcast? We're apparently up to episode 8 already.

A - Eight little piggies not happy with Xbox One. GameroomBlitz doesn't like always-on Kinect and DRM.

A - Nine little piggies not happy with Xbox One. Pixielated blames you. Would've 'sauced this if it wasn't for the hostility, because her points are valid.

A - Ten little piggies not happy with Xbox One, but Auggie offers suggestions for improvement.

A - Eleven little piggies not happy with Xbox One. It seems that TheKodu doesn't like any of it.

- So can we have bacon now?

- Wait, how the fuck did you get here?!

E - Last year, PK493 took bbain to the MCM Expo. This year it was Phil's turn. Look how much fun his avatar had!

R - A new review by TroyFullbuster, on New Super Mario Bros 2. The game's better than expected, seems like.

T - Tomb Raider might have been good gameplay-wise, but Nick didn't think it was written particularly well. Seems fair.

V - In honor of the announcement to announce (yeah...) a new Mario in the next Nintendo Direct, Mikki Saturn takes a look at where it all began.

T - While Sonic Team will always be synonymous with their blue hedgehog, they made some other cool games as well. Notably: NiGHTS Into Dreams.

F - PopetheRev likes anime a lot (a LOT) and has a list of recommendations which strangely lacks Death Note.

C - I thought this was funnier than it probably deserves. Then again, I devoted an entire caps to laughing about the Xbox One, so who am I to talk?

V - Xbox One is watching you. Every move you make, every bond you break, every step you take, it'll be watching you.

V - Even The Onion has an opinion on Xbox One.

C - CoffeeKnight spent huge dosh on Steam, but didn't play nearly every game. Ah, the plight of us all.

L - Okay, so this was actually pretty clever.

- She should totally smile more often. She's actually pretty cute when she smiles.

Current "Bloggers Wanted" assignment
Crowdfunded

It feels like it's been a decade since we've seen the rise of the crowdfunded game. I'm always surprised when I remind myself that crowdfunding has been a thing long before the first crowdfunded video game, but nowadays a crowdfunded game seems like a dime a dozen.

Of course such a phrase is an incredible disservice to some of the great games that have come out thanks to websites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Games like FTL, Shovel Knight, and even Undertale are around thanks to crowdfunding; thanks to people gathering around and literally putting their money where their mouth is, a game they want gets funded and inevitably the greater landscape of gaming benefits from it. Most of the time the landscape gets to benefit from it anyways.

Don't worry though, this month's bloggers wanted prompt isn't an exploratory thesis on the effects of crowdfunding on video game development. We just want you to talk about your favorite games, as long as they were crowdfunded. This topic can be simultaneously broad and narrow, because you can talk about whatever game you want, however you want, as long as it was crowdfunded.
For me, FTL is the original crowdfunded game, and it was great. It was somehow minimalist and incredibly detailed at the same time, and it was all done because a man wanted to do it, but needed the money, and thousands of other people wanted to see where his idea would go. Shovel Knight to me feels like this natural evolution of the classic 8-bit gaming of yore without also throwing myself back to a time when gaming was honestly comparatively archaic. And everyone's talked to death about Undertale, so we all know where I'd go with that.

To participate in this month's bloggers wanted, just start a blog! Oh, and title it "Crowdfunded: [your blog title here]." I bet this month is going to be pretty diverse, since it's basically writing about your favorite crowdfunded game. So I hope to hear about some good games revisited or amazing games no one has heard about.

Remember: Persona 5 was not crowdfunded, but excuse me as I plow through it.
