Good Monday evening to you all. I hope you'll indulge me a small question up at the top. How can I better serve you in my capacity as a recapper? Last week's outing went practically unnoticed, which is discouraging to say the least. It makes me think I'm not doing something right, so I'd like to ask you what I can change to make things better. Just hit up the comments at the end of the post; be honest and please keep it constructive, that's all I ask.

Lots of good stuff at the top tonight, a couple of monthly musings by Banjo-Kazooie fans, and some worldwide NARP retrospectives. Let's get to it.

*-AlphaDeus has a talent for playing the piano, but a limited time to share it with the world. This is some truly lovely playing right here.
*- Handy's Fanart Flops this time brings you such horrors as Lady Gaga Cloud and Tiny-Face Tidus. That's right, it's the Final Fantasy version.
*-Need proof that the Dtoid community is awesome? Look no further than their willingness to help out a stranger in his time of need.
*-Corduroy Turtle's Musing for the month should be familiar to anyone who's ever tried to explain something to a child.

A-Nice to see BahamutZero return to the site with this rant slanging off in-box DLC.
M-Burningsoup Musing explains his bias in favor of platform games.
M- XL1ska tells a harrowing story of how his bias for Rare has dwindled to nearly nothing in recent months.

W-Destructoid: Where Even the Losers are Winners!

E-Zen Albatross and friends will be rockin' 8bit goodness at PAX prime in less than two weeks. If you've seen any of Topher's Journalism Show videos, you've heard Zen's music and know it to be good. Let's show some serious support at PAX!
D-Video and pictures from last weekend's EuroNARP are now condensed into this handy little blog.
D-Not to be outdone, Dtoid San Francisco countered with video and photos of their NARP. Don't worry, I managed to stay off-camera the whole night. Your eyeballs will be safe.
I-A reintroduction by one of Destructoid's most senior members. Power-Glove is a man of wealth and taste.

N-Louis Garcia12 wanted to let everyone know that the free-to-play MMO Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures is now in open beta.
T- Some rantin' and ravin' about Sega by The Auracle.
T-Kytherno recommends a couple of retro Playstation games, but Goggleknocker makes an excellent point.
T-Lil DangerouZ posted a few things he thinks are necessary to sell a game.

A-Some beautiful ink drawings based on Diablo 2, Shadow Hearts, and Rule of Rose by Yorda.
M-Kingcrude put together a Modern Warfare 2 music video using the game's sound assets.
S-Hey guys, we're all gonna get semi-formal dresses from the 80's! SWEET!

L-Geoff shared a video showing some silly Mirror's Edge cosplay in the vein of Mega64.
V-DimmuJed likes Pokemon Red's music. It's still amazing how much game got packed into that little plastic cartridge.
C-Short blogs consisting of one or two lines tend to go ignored. You'd have better luck in the forums.

F-Occam's (AKA The Toothbrush Man) used his GIS superpowers to keep this one from being a total waste of space.
F- A cross posted review of Kane and Lynch 2. Hard to say what's the bigger fail.

Current "Bloggers Wanted" assignment
Crowdfunded

It feels like it's been a decade since we've seen the rise of the crowdfunded game. I'm always surprised when I remind myself that crowdfunding has been a thing long before the first crowdfunded video game, but nowadays a crowdfunded game seems like a dime a dozen.

Of course such a phrase is an incredible disservice to some of the great games that have come out thanks to websites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Games like FTL, Shovel Knight, and even Undertale are around thanks to crowdfunding; thanks to people gathering around and literally putting their money where their mouth is, a game they want gets funded and inevitably the greater landscape of gaming benefits from it. Most of the time the landscape gets to benefit from it anyways.

Don't worry though, this month's bloggers wanted prompt isn't an exploratory thesis on the effects of crowdfunding on video game development. We just want you to talk about your favorite games, as long as they were crowdfunded. This topic can be simultaneously broad and narrow, because you can talk about whatever game you want, however you want, as long as it was crowdfunded.
For me, FTL is the original crowdfunded game, and it was great. It was somehow minimalist and incredibly detailed at the same time, and it was all done because a man wanted to do it, but needed the money, and thousands of other people wanted to see where his idea would go. Shovel Knight to me feels like this natural evolution of the classic 8-bit gaming of yore without also throwing myself back to a time when gaming was honestly comparatively archaic. And everyone's talked to death about Undertale, so we all know where I'd go with that.

To participate in this month's bloggers wanted, just start a blog! Oh, and title it "Crowdfunded: [your blog title here]." I bet this month is going to be pretty diverse, since it's basically writing about your favorite crowdfunded game. So I hope to hear about some good games revisited or amazing games no one has heard about.

Remember: Persona 5 was not crowdfunded, but excuse me as I plow through it.
