This is gonna be another quick one, but they can't all be winners or whatevs. I would like to mention a thing I just read about, though. Apparently, DC's show, Gotham, is not quite what some people thought. It's about "all of the classic Batman characters" and how they came to be what we know them as. Think Smallville in a sense.
I'm tired, so I can't tell if that's a great idea or a terrible one. All I know is it's on FOX, so it won't make it to season 2.

Have some pics and CAPS & stuff.

* - RenaudB90 settles this business of the Wii U being hard to develop for, AND he has proof to back it up. Nintendo conspiracies ahoy.

* - Part 2 of Dreamweaver's fascinating list of favorite videogame Doujinshis. Turns out Demon's Souls manga porn is just as bleak as the rest of the universe.

P - Scary Granules is back! The scintilatingly-titled Armoured Core Dildos is episode number twenty. Welcome back :)

A - TheDefenestrator is your go-to-guy when it comes to Warframe. He's got all the helpful tips to playing & understanding this game.

E - MeanderBot continues to share all his lovely photographs from PAX Prime 2013.

I - Say hello to new Dtoider and Texan: Psyforce! Great intro dude!

S - AlphaDeus is looking for some collaborative help on a huge music project of his: AD Infinitum. It's a doozy, so let him know if you're interested.

R - Terry 309 does a "current-gen" review for Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, despite it being last-gen. HMMMMMMM. Check out the review for what is regarded as something of an underrated gem.

T - Better On Holiday gets into his first week of 2014, with the goal to clear his backlog and not buy ANY games all year. See how he's doing so far.

R - JordanLloyd video reviews Gunman Clive, a great little game for 2 bucks.

R - Kooram reviews Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. A pirate's life for me, gents.

T - Om Nom On Souls has a quick but poignant blog, on videogame growth and the use of the Anthology format.

V - The Arm Length Interviews guys get drunk and unbox old technology. I smell a hit.

F - JordanLloyd still hasn't written, like, anything. Just another video plopped down here. I'm not even sure what Dragonball Chi is.

Villains that did nothing wrong

Villains in all media, not just video games, can end up being a dime a dozen. Far too often, a villain's motives boil down to "I am a bad, and so I do bad things. Fear me." While this format has worked for countless stories, at this point in my life (the ripe old age of 20) I’ve become jaded and grumpy, finding myself rolling my eyes when I see yet another antagonist wreaking havoc with no background or reasoning presented as to why they’re being such a butthole.

What’s far more interesting to me is when a villain’s motives or actions come across as justified, perhaps leaving you rooting for them to defeat the protagonist [insert Elder God Tier villain meme here].

My favorite example of this would be Meruem from the Chimera Ant arc of Hunter x Hunter. While he doesn’t necessarily fit the exact mold I laid out above, he’s easily one of the most dynamic and curious villains I’ve ever come across. For the sake of not spoiling what is perhaps one of the most exciting, action-packed, and tear-inducing arcs in anime history, I won’t delve into the details of what makes Meruem so great. Instead I encourage anyone who hasn’t seen Hunter x Hunter to set aside some time and plow through the series. Really, it’s that good.

But hey, that’s just how I feel. I’m sure there are folks out there who prefer their villains to be simple. If I ever met one of these theoretical people I might have a panic attack, but I’ll deal with that should the time come. I’m sure after some deep breaths we would get along. Maybe we could even snuggle, should my husband allow such an event to transpire.

All said and done, we arrive at the topic of this month’s Bloggers Wanted: Villains that did nothing wrong. Due to communication errors, this entry in the hallowed halls of Bloggers Wanted is a tad late. Regardless, all you have to do is head over to the Community Blog section of the site, and whip up a Cblog about a villain who you feel was secretly the good guy all along.
